Since the 1970s, Erie County Parks has produced maple syrup at the Bureau of Forestry on Genesee Road in East Concord, with over 1,200 taps across about 20 acres of forest. A vacuum system sends the sap down to the Sugar Shack, where we have a wood-fired evaporator.
Every March, we host Maple Fest where the public is invited to see the operation and sample our syrup, as well as enjoy live demonstrations, music, and food. We also offer tours and demonstrations for groups throughout the month of March, by reservation only. Interested groups should fill out our Program Request Form.
Syrup is available for purchase at Parks Department special events and at the Parks office (95 Franklin St, Room 1260, Buffalo).
