Green Team’s Commuter Coalition
In April 2023, the Green Team’s Commuter Committee met for the first time to discuss active and sustainable commute opportunities and infrastructure. The Committee regularly meets quarterly with virtual and in-person options. Everyone is welcome, and if you are interested in participating, please email sustainability@erie.gov.

Rath Bike Parking Room
Free secure indoor bike and scooter parking for employees at the Rath Building. To request access, email Tracy.Skalski@erie.gov
Changing Rooms
In the fitness center on the sixth floor, there are changing rooms with showers for anyone that may need to change before or after their commute. To use the showers, you will need to register to use the Fitness Room with Personnel, and they will update your staff ID to allow access to this area.
Erie County is working with GoBuffaloNiagara to offer individual meetings to discuss next steps for your sustainable and active commute! They will help you identify tools/resources that work for your specific commute. This calendar will allow you to set up a time.
Community Programs
Online Carpool Matching System
GO Buffalo Niagara works with 511NY to bring you an online carpool matching system. Use the system to find other travelers nearby who want to share a ride to work.
Offers easy, affordable and sustainable alternatives to driving alone. Also offers information on carpooling, vanpooling, workplace commuter benefits, public transportation, etc.
Commuters who regularly get to work without a personal vehicle are eligible for up to $175 per year to get to their destination in the case of an emergency. Get more information and sign up!
Bike Sharing program around Buffalo and Niagara where you can conveniently access bikes without needing to own or maintain one. Erie County employees get a free Reddy bikeshare membership annually!
