Erie County In Motion Checklist

How It Works

Please complete at least 5 of the related motion activities below to be entered in a drawing to win an Erie County In Motion Commuter Bag filled with information, resources, and health promotion materials. Names will be drawn at random at the end of 2026. The 5 winners will be notified by phone or email. Commuter bags pickup will be at 95 Franklin St. Buffalo, NY 14202.

You can either complete and submit the checklist on this webform, or download and print your own checklist here (accessible PDF). To submit a paper copy, mail your completed checklist to Erie County Office of Health Equity, 95 Franklin St. Floor 9, Buffalo, NY, 14202. Must be received by 11/30/2026.

Checklist Items

• Visited an Erie County Park and used a path or trail. Find Erie County Parks here. 
• Took the Erie County Parks Adventure Bus. View the schedule here.
• Participated in a free community fitness class. To find free community fitness classes, visit the Club 99 page and the YMCA Fitness in the Park page or search “free community fitness class near me.”
• Took the bus or train for a day instead of a car. View the NFTA schedule here. 
• Participated in a group or self-guided tour (by foot, scooter, rollerblade, wheelchair, bicycle, skateboard, etc.). To find a self-guided tour, search “self-guided tours near me.”
• Went for a walk (by foot, scooter, rollerblade, wheelchair, bicycle, skateboard, etc.).
• Got moving during the work day (took the stairs, tried a desk workout, etc). To find ideas for a desk workout, search “desk workout.”
• Currently own or have purchased, rented, or borrowed a bicycle or e-bike. Visit SharedMobility's WNY E-bike Library page here for more information on a rebate for e-bikes.
• Joined a bike club or rode a bike with at least 1 other person. Try the East Side Bike Club or Slow Roll Buffalo.
• Read about street safety. Check out Erie County’s Street Smart campaign.
• Learned about bike repair. Check out a YouTube playlist of bike repair videos. 
• Learned about bike safety. Check out a YouTube playlist of bike safety videos. 
• Got a helmet or wore a helmet when biking, scooting, or skating. For a free helmet, check out the PAL Bicycle Safety Program.
• Cooled off at a public water source like a lake, stream, pool, or splashpad. Find Erie County public water sources here.
• Picked up essentials without a car.
• Found a bike path. Suggested link: Check out the Erie County Shoreline Trail here or search “bike paths near me.”
• Walked the mall or visited an indoor fitness facility (community gym, rock climbing, golf dome, etc.)
• Tried a winter activity (ice skating, sledding, snowshoeing, etc.) Check out the Library of Things for gear.
• Visited an accessible playground or neighborhood playground. Find Erie County Parks accessible playgrounds here.
• Tried stretching, yoga, or tai chi. Try the Mayo Clinic's Guide to Basic Stretches, Yoga With Adriene on YouTube, or search “free yoga video.”
