Michael Liszewski

 

Michael J. Liszewski, Esq. has been an Assistant County Attorney in the Family Court Division since 2000. He is responsible for the presentment of Juvenile Delinquency and Person in Need of Supervision petitions including petition preparation, arraignment, pre-trial hearings and motions, trials, dispositional hearings and appeals. Mr. Liszewski also represents the Erie County Department of Probation in Family Court proceedings. He collaborates with law enforcement agencies, counseling agencies, Erie County Central Police Services and school districts to provide accurate information to the court. Mr. Liszewski graduated from Canisius College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and received a Juris Doctor degree from Ohio Northern University. Before joining the County of Erie Department of Law Mr. Liszewski was in private practice for 16 years handling civil litigation in commercial, real estate, negligence, matrimonial and family law, surrogate’ court proceedings as well as criminal defense. Mr. Liszewski was also a hearing officer for Buffalo City Court Small Claims Court. He is admitted to practice in New York State and Federal Courts. Mr. Liszewski is a member of the Judge’s and Police Conference of Erie County where he previously held positions on the Board and was the Financial Secretary for many years.
