The Erie County Parks Commission was founded in May 1924, with the first land acquisitions taking place in 1925 (Chestnut Ridge Park, Emery Park and Ellicott Creek Park).
For 100 years, patrons have been recreating, having fun, celebrating, and commemorating in Erie County Parks.
Our Parks are special places to many and we want to hear your stories!
Our goal is to publish some of the most memorable and notable stories on our website and in print (with your permission, of course!).
Here is how you can share your stories:
E-mail us your story at Erie_County_Parks@Erie.Gov with "Centennial Story" in the Subject Line. You are welcome to submit stories anonymously, but we hope you will share your name and contact information with us so we can follow up with you if needed. Please feel free to include photos!
