NYS OASAS Addiction Professionals Scholarship Program

New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) will provide 325 full scholarships to Stony Brook University (SBU) and Alfred State College (ASC) for eligible applicants to complete the 350-hour Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) Program online.

Additionally, OASAS will provide scholarships to Alfred State College to complete the 250-hour Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) Program online.

Also, Empire State College scholarship opportunities for eligible Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselors (CASAC) and Credentialed Prevention Specialists (CPS) to complete at least one semester toward the Bachelor of Science in Addiction Studies Program.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS:



• New York State residents who are at least 18 years of age with a minimum of a high school diploma or a G.E.D. from an accredited institution (for the CASAC program) or with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (for the CPP program) and who are:

  • Employees of one (1) of the following OASAS, OMH or DOH programs below will be prioritized to receive scholarships:
    • OASAS-certified, funded, or otherwise authorized programs;
    • OMH- and/or DOH-certified Integrated Outpatient Services (IOS-SUD);
    • DOH Drug User Health and/or Harm Reduction programs.

       
  • After priority populations the following will also be eligible:
    • Individuals working within the addictions field (prevention, treatment, recovery, and/or harm reduction) in an eligible non-OASAS setting such as OMH and DOH programs not listed above;
    • Individuals or students interested in working in eligible OASAS, OMH, or DOH settings.
