A panel discussion and Q&A session focused on the continuing needs of the local LGBTQ+ community. This vital conversation will take place on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the BestSelf Administration Building at 899 Main Street.
The purpose of this event is to unite key figures from both the homeless and LGBTQ+ advocacy sectors to address the complex challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals experiencing homelessness—a disproportionately vulnerable population in our community. Our discussion will be action-oriented, focusing on three key areas:
- Understanding the current demographic makeup of our LGBTQ+ homeless population.
- Assessing the currently available resources and identifying gaps in service.
- Developing strategic collaborative plans for our next steps as a community.
A significant portion of the evening will be dedicated to evaluating tangible solutions, such as the creation of an adult drop-in center, a dedicated homeless shelter, and subsidized housing initiatives. By bringing together experts, service providers, and community members, we aim to move beyond discussion and identify impactful, sustainable paths forward.
