Data Webinars

The Overdose Data Review for Community Partners is designed to assist community partners engaged in outreach to better target efforts. In this webinar, attendees will learn how the Office of Harm Reduction collects and analyzes local data to create heat maps, how to use heat maps to identify clusters and recognize trends over time. Once organizations attend this webinar, they can sign up to receive monthly data updates from the Office of Harm Reduction. This can include specific areas of interest designated by said organizations.

Opioid Overdose Prevention Webinars

Participants will learn about the effects of various substances, trends and shifts in Erie County, and how to respond to a potential overdose situation. Naloxone, resources and training are provided at no cost.

The Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) has scheduled monthly Narcan trainings for 2026. The first three dates are:

Tuesday 1/6- 6pm-8pm

Training of Trainers (ToT)

ToT is very similar to our traditional opioid overdose recognition and Narcan administration training, however this one is designed to prepare attendees to become trainers themselves. You can find more details on the form.

Black Ballon Day: A Day of Remembrance & Awareness

Description: 
All are welcome! Join the Erie County Department of Health's Office of Harm Reduction as we gather in remembrance of the lives lost to overdose and in support of the families and communities who continue to feel the impact of substance use. Black Balloon Day is a time to honor loved ones taken too soon, stand together in compassion and solidarity, reduce stigma through open conversation, and raise awareness about prevention, support, and hope. Black balloons displayed throughout the community serve as a visible symbol of remembrance, love, and unity.

Event highlights will include:

  • Community Remembrance Gathering (6-8 PM)
  • Memorial displays
  • Space for reflection and connection
  • Opportunity to honor loved ones
