New York State Information Sheet about Grief and Loss

The following services are currently available:

American Red Cross: 

The American Red Cross is operating a virtual Family Assistance Center to provide comfort, support, information and referrals for New York State families that have lost loved ones to the COVID-19 Coronavirus. The virtual Family Assistance Center will link families to crisis counselors who will provide emotional and spiritual support, as well as, information and referrals to help them navigate the challenging process they might be facing as a result of their loved one’s death. Connect with Red Cross immediately by calling 833-492-0094 (toll-free), language services for non-English speaking callers will be provided or contact them with any questions via email at VFAC@redcross.org.

Buffalo Hospice and Pailiative Care: Individual counseling sessions are available. 716-873-8077 * and you can email GriefSupport@palliativecare.org for more information.

Footprints of the Heart Support Group: Support groups via Zoom 2 times per month, email acreamer@chsbuffalo.org for meeting information. 

Jewish Family Services: Open and accepting new clients, Telehealth services are available by phone and web. Call 716-883-1914 for more information.

Tiniest Angels Support Group: Bereavement support for those who have had a loss. Call 716-626-6363 or email Sue@wnypbn.org. More information available on the Tiniest Angels Support Group website.

WNY Chapter Bereaved Parents of USA: Telehealth available, call 716-675-3844 for an appointment.
