Location: Sergeant Mark A. Rademacher Memorial Park/Hunters Creek - Hunters Creek Road lot, about 1000 feet south of Rt 78/Strykersville Rd. This is NOT the entrance most visitors are more familiar with on Centerline Rd.
Erie County's Hunters Creek Park has an extensive and varied trail system. Come with Ranger Roy for a 4 to 6-mile hike in autumn conditions. We will go over some preparation and safety basics before heading out. This hike will be strenuous and challenging, not a good first hike.
· Meeting Location: Hunters Creek Road lot, about 1000 feet south of Rt 78/Strykersville Rd. This is NOT the entrance most visitors are more familiar with on Centerline Rd.
· Duration: 2-3 hours
· Distance: 4-6 miles
· Elevation: Significant elevation changes
· Trail Conditions: Potential for cool fall temps and muddy trails. Will be walking wooded trails
· Equipment Needed: Come equipped with your 10 essentials, good boots, layers of clothing, hiking crampons if you have them and poles if you use them. Unless it has been very dry for at least a week, the ranger will have tall rubber boots on.
· Other: No stroller/wheelchair accessibility, dogs are welcome on a leash
