Location: Chestnut Ridge - Meeting Location: Eternal Flame Parking area off of Route 277
Come Join Ranger Roy and hike the world-renowned Eternal Flame Trail at Chestnut Ridge Park. This will be a fun-filled educational hike that will take you to the natural phenomenon known as the Eternal Flame! Learn about hemlock forests, local wildlife and more!
· Meeting Location: Eternal Flame Parking area (off of Route 277)
· Duration: 1 – 1.5 hrs
· Elevation: Approximately 200 feet of elevation change; steep in areas
· Distance: 1.12 miles
· Surface Description: Mud/dirt/roots/water; this trail is very wooded and a portion of the hike will be within the creek
· Equipment Needed: Sturdy waterproof shoes/boots (or shoes you won’t mind getting wet) & drinking water.
· Optional – Hiking poles
· Equipment Other: This event and area is dog friendly (on a leash); this hike is not stroller or wheelchair accessible
