Sprague Brook Bioblitz: A Citizen Science Adventure!

Location: Sprague Brook - Meeting Location: Shelter 2/3 Parking Lot (by new playground)

Join Ranger Adam for another exciting "BioBlitz" at Sprague Brook Park, where you'll become a citizen scientist for a day! This hands-on outdoor education event invites participants of all ages to explore the park’s diverse ecosystems, identifying and documenting local wildlife, plants, and fungi. Using your smartphone, you'll contribute valuable species data to conservation efforts, helping researchers, land managers, and environmental scientists better understand and protect our region’s biodiversity. 

· Meeting Location: Sprague Brook Park – Shelter 2/3 Parking Lot (by new playground)

· Duration: 1-2 hrs.

· Elevation: Moderate elevation change

· Distance: Approximately 2.5 miles

· Trail Conditions: Walking through a variety of habitats including grassy roadsides, forest trails, and open meadows

· Equipment Needed: Smartphone & download "Seek by iNaturalist" smartphone application (free to download)

· Other: No wheelchair/stroller accessibility, dogs are welcome on a leash
